  1. Hamas was created by Israel to counter the popularity of Yasser Arafat’s PLO, back in the 70’s and 80’s. It grew into its own creature, but was still funded by Israel up until recently. It was mass hubris which killed all those Israelis in their kibbutzim. They were under the delusion they were safe and in control of so much seething anger. Their collective superiority complex was wrong. And they paid a heavy price
