Shooting someone who’s already dead is actually called attempted murder (yes, even though he’s already dead). A cop was charged with this after he shot a kid on a streetcar in Toronto many years ago. Sammy Yatim. It was an unjustified shooting and the cop was charged with murder as well as attempted murder. He kept firing after the kid was gone.
