  3. I think two of the three hydraulic systems get their power from one or both engines, from say a bird strike and resulting compressor stall. The third hydraulic system will be able to lower the gear by gravity, but that’s a lot to think over for the pilots when you’re seconds from touchdown after you’ve already made a go-around, and then you see a solid concrete wall at the end of the runway but it’s too late to abort.

Hydraulics for lowering the gear could be affected by an engine compressor stall, but there is still a third, back up hydraulic system that allowed the gear doors to drop open and the nose and main trucks to drop into locked position. It landed on runway 19, not 01. There was no bad weather, look at the screen capture.
