  1. Since I was a teen I have always despised fads, but I had a hard time understanding why, despite my many attempts at self-reflection on this point. After watching this video I finally understand why; fads are the end point, the logical conclusion of mass conformity and a woeful lack of courage individually as well as collectively.

  3. The news media is partly responsible for this growth in moral cowardice. It is the job of any business to make money, and the news media is no different. They must spin an otherwise boring subject into something much more appealing, interesting, shocking, scandalizing, frightening than it really is. This is why President .trump and the press lived an unspoken symbiotic relationship, despite his frequent denunciations of the press. He’d simply say some outrageous shit and the press would immediately go into a frenzy, and in the process sell more subscriptions, advertising and newspapers.
