  2. The death penalty is not a deterrent to committing crimes; it doesn’t stop killers from killing by making them think twice before acting. So, what’s the point?

  3. In China it is more cost effective to kill a pedestrian or cyclist if you’ve accidentally hit and injured them. The cost of a lifetime of in-home care and rehabilitation and physical therapy can quickly drain the offenders resources, whereas funeral costs are much smaller and are also finite. This is the way of Chinese mentality, a society with so many people life itself has become devalued.
