  1. “It’s not easy to confirm the number of casualties ...” ...especially when the faces of their dead are routinely burned off in order to thwart easy identification. Most of these soldiers probably had little to no choice but to “volunteer” for war for the sake of the Dear Leader. Also, they heard there was food in Russia.
