  1. These tests will do nothing to stop or slow the spread of disease. It is purely political theatre. There is absolutely no scientific or medical reason to demand negative tests from travellers from China. Any variants that are suspected from China are already in other countries for which Canada has no testing requirements for, and probably are already here, anyway. The government must show Canadians they are doing “something” in order to ward off attacks in question period from their political halfwit rivals (and their constituents) who know nothing to very little about science, reality or facts. The only way to stop or slow the spread of any virus would to have closed all Canadian land, sea and air ports a month ago, preventing all cargo jets, passenger planes, buses, cars, trucks, passenger trains, freight trains, pleasure craft and foot traffic from crossing into Canada. This would also mean barring any Canadian traveller from coming home, a clear violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
