Because the Russo-Ukraine war was concentrated at the Eastern front ?
13
All Zelensky insisted on joining NATO. Worse, he even agreed to deploy US nuclear arsenal in Ukraine after joining NATO.
7
Since the F16 would most likely be stationed on the west-western side of Ukraine, by the time a squadron of them reach the eastern border, they might be intercepted by the Russian planes and S-400. Little chances to "throw" bombs.
4
From your "plane" dialogue, I recalled a scene from Battlestar Galactica which a human fighting side by side with his "enemy", a cylon robot. Too bad in reality, Ukraine would have too few MIG-29 and F16 in 2024 for any meaningful air "resistance" against Russian planes.
3
Perhaps USA was concerned that Ukraine might use its attack helicoptors to attack Russia proper.
3
But Kharkiv was lightly defended.
3
No. It is not a failed state. NATO/EU tried to destroy Russia in 2022 but failed.
2
@el_gabron Why not ? Currently, Ukraine is facing manpower shortage for war, and most of its soldiers were concentrated at the eastern front, trying to prevent Russians from capturing all of Donbass region. That meant Kharkiv will not be heavily defended.
2
Moscow : So far Ukraine needs to mobilize 500,000 Ukrainians to the meat grinders. Where's the Ukrainians ? Ukraine : Somewhere in Europe.
2
Since Ukraine would be flying old version of F16. The answer is No chance against S400.
2
Maybe because it was proven that USA blew up Germany gas pipelines and Ukraine blew up the "Crimea" bridge. So the probability that they were involved in destroying the dam held by Russia, which could just open the flood gates could not be discounted.
2
You forgot to mention NATO/EU.
2
You forgot the wolf in the forest is fighting with the big brown bear.
2
You were misinformed. PLA actually reached Vietnam capital before Chairman Deng decided Vietnam had been "punished" sufficiently, and ordered a withdrawal.
2
No F35 seen protecting Ukraine airspace either.
2
LOL. Brotherhood of Russia. Peace through Power.
2
@phild3936 The Russians held elections, even if it's just for show in the 4 regions and Crimea. So must Ukraine if it wants to go the Russian way.
2
Not Russia. They see Trump.
2
Not viable because Ukraine is totally dependent on NATO/EU supports. Without "positive military results", their supports would dry up.
2
It would be difficult for Ukraine to use "bite and hold". Because it rely totally on NATO charities on artilleries and shells ( small bite force ), and lack of manpower for war ( not enough men to hold ). However, if Poland really send the Ukrainian refugees back to Ukraine, Zelensky could draft them into battles.
1
Compare to Nazi Netanyahu intense mass bombing of Gaza Strip, Tzar Putin not yet escalated to the max.
1
@eeeertoo2597 Yes, at Kherson. Ukrainian forces only fully occupied the other side of the river, one week after Russia withdrew for fear of traps.
1
@eeeertoo2597 That is the reason its being called the meat grinder for both Ukraine and Russia. As for Kherson, one could either say the Ukraine commanders were cautious on one hand or lacked confidence on the other.
1
Unfortunately, morale cannot be quantified. What if the Russian conscripts morale are not bottom poor, and the Ukrainians come at tnem like stray dogs ?
1
How could he ? He's pro-Ukraine. No Ukraine negative news.
1
The West would get their money back, by hook or by crook. If Ukraine "unable" to repay its debts, the West could confiscate personel assets and foreign reserve.
1
Stop whining. USA instigated Ukraine into provoking Russia for the invasion. The least that the American could do is to pay the bills.
1
@БогданБеркут I doubt so since Europe had rejected and ostracised Russia. But Russia still got Asia, Africa and Latin South America supports.
1
Its a lot easier for NATO/EU to send troops into Ukraine to repel Russia from the four regions and Crimea.
1
Perhaps its one of the thousands retrenched Disney employees that "sold" the Disney IP to Russia ? Too much confidential "dirty" documents had been leaked out.
1
No need since USA has never paid for its crimes against American Natives, or other countries that it had regime changed and invaded for the past 50 years.
1
I'm not sure Ukraine would break Russia defensive lines in the four regions and Crimea, with only one million attackers vs half a million defenders ( not counting weapons and ammo ).
1
Taliban had terrorised and traumatised the US forces that they lacked courage to face the Russian forces.
1
No permission from USA.
1
Time is not on Ukraine side. Ukraine had postphone the offensive from winter to spring and now its summer. Many NATO/EU countries are tired of continous supports to Ukraine.
1
Because NATO/EU is fighting Russia with Ukrainian blood.
1
Can't blame him since he is American ( I think ).
1
To negotiate for peace.
1
Do not complain since its USA which instigated Ukraine to provoke Russia in the first place, by baiting it with NATO membership and nuclear weapons in Ukraine ( Cuba crisis again except with war ).
1
@БогданБеркут You forgot that Ukraine is also abandoned by two guarantors of its security, USA and Britain. They did not send formal, professional soldiers to help Ukraine repelled Russia in its hours of needs.
1
Don't overdo it. The soldiers morale might be sunk rock bottom and many countries might just give up on Ukraine.
1
To negotiate for peace.
1
Ukraine holding Western economy ? You're mistaken. Western economy in Europe already been severely damaged by Russia economic counter-sanctions, and by USA deindustrailization of Germany, selling ultra high price energy to its European allies and increased interest rates for the past 2 years.
1
Actually no need for France to put troops on the ground. It just need to send Ukrainian man refugees back to defend their homeland.
1
The war be Putin undoing ? He is already preparing to rule Russia for the next 6 years.
1
North Korea didn't give. It traded its ammo for Russia's fuel, war and satellite tech and grains.
1
Happily tired because more inflow of Money.
1
Thus, the operation was a failure.
1
You could see Defence Politics Asia for frontline changes in the eastern front. From the looks of it, Ukraine would lose Pokrovsk.
1
Zelensky Ukraine did provoke this war by insisting on joining NATO, even though Europe knew it was the last red line of Russia. The naive comedian Zelensky didn't learn the lesson of 2014 annexation of Crimea that Putin was very serious about his war threats.
