To not call them "victims" implies that they deserved to die. They are victims of bad circumstance, victims of gun violence. Rottenhouse should've never been there provoking with an assault rifle. Go looking for trouble, trouble will find you. Nobody deserved to die. Not even Ashley Babbit.

@TheAzmountaineer No, nobody cares to keep it neutral. The defense must demonize the two dead man to get an acquittal and the prosecution must present them to be victims of the gun toting perpetrator to get a guilty verdict.

The judge should not speak about the case at all until after a verdict is rendered. The "victim thing" in this case is already showing bias before closing arguments. In actuality, no one cares about neutrality as the defense must demonize the two dead men as aggressors to get an acquittal and the prosecution must present the two dead men as merely victims of the defendant. It's the juror's duty to "clear their minds" of any preconceived notions about the case, and to recognize any internal biases.
