  1. If a channel that routinely legitimizes and soft-balls creationists asked you to come on and discuss science (assuming you were qualified), would you? Would you want to feed into that channel's self-image as "balanced" or "neutral"? I can understand why some on the left don't want to engage with Rubin on his own terms and turf and give him and his far right guests more legitimacy.

  3. Have you seen the clip of Peterson talking about makeup in the workplace? It's terrifying and hilarious at the same time.   I think the playboy pad set is a subtle (not so subtle?) persuasive technique. Like, look at me, I have these objectionable opinions now that I sold out and I've got all this cool stuff! If he'd been doing the exact same show on, like, the Red Letter Media set, or in a generic room, I honestly think his ideas, such as they exist, wouldn't have as much appeal.
