  1. There seems to be no tactical reason for this incursion. This is largely undefended farmland of no strategic value, If the Ukrainians are hoping to force Russia to detach troops from the Donetsk front, I think they will be disappointed. At a wild guess I would say this means good news for a near ending of the war. Holding this territory could be a useful bargaining chip in peace negotiations.

  2.  @ChucksSEADnDEAD  There should be sufficient reserves available if this incursion is as relatively small as it appears.
