Politics makes strange bedfellows and war even stranger alliances. There is nothing to prevent us seeing Ukraine's hand in this act of extreme terrorism.

@notaspy1227 Not every time. But I agree that Russia is no stranger to duplicity. All the same it wouldn't surprise me if Ukrainian intelligence hadn't helped move things along. There are supposed to be a number of disaffected Muslims from Russian-dominated countries who have joined up with the Ukrainians.

@Neutralino This is on a rather different scale. That accusation is still somewhat in doubt , but even if true it was only to justify the campaign against the Chechen rebels. The war against Ukraine does not need any more justification than it has already - certainly in the eyes of the majority of Russians.

@jim2376 True enough. But I'm not Russian and I can easily visualise a scenario in which Ukrainian intelligence helped organise this somewhat obscure ISIS spin-off group into a weapon of mass destruction.
