How can this be so when every Russian is used to surviving winters with temperatures many degrees below zero? Unlike the Ukrainians they will also have electricity and entirely unscathed supply lines.

I think he must accept the loss of Crimea and of Donetsk and Luhansk at the very least. To carry on at this stage might result in the loss of all four annexed territories and the entire coastline.

Zelensky's propaganda grows increasingly desperate. The fact is now, after several weeks of virtual stalemate, the Russians are making advances on the s. east front with Bakhmut close to being surrounded and all supply routes cut.

The Russians will then stop lying down and advance across ground as hard as concrete until they reach the borders of Lugansk and Donetsk where, unless Zelensky surrenders, they will probably build new trenches. Of concrete.
