  2. But Putin doesn't WANT to conquer Ukraine!! He just wants Donbass and Crimea, and has said so on numerous occasions.

  4.  @paulmes7667  Possibly - although Putin has said that if the new , smaller Ukraine wants to look to the West he will, however regretfully, not try to prevent it. Can't join NATO though!

  6.  @andreasfroby  If you look at the actions carefully you will see it was not an attempt to take Kiev, but merely to draw the Ukrainians into a fight and reduce their strength.
