The difficulty is that Crimea and Eastern Ukraine genuinely have substantial Russian populations which have been deliberately targeted since Ukrainian independence. There is a strong case to be made that these areas are not in any real sense, part of the new country of Ukraine.

  4. When was Russia ever given part of Ukraine??? It walked into Crimea unhindered and supported the separatists in Donbass. If its very reasonable demands to ratify this situation had been met there would be no war.
