@srlind2835 What on earth leads you to this pessimistic conclusion? America is threatened by destructive forces within which must be curtailed, whereas in Russia controls over behaviour are becoming increasingly relaxed. There is every hope that a happy medium will be achieved in both nations.

@srlind2835 This obsession with GDP and demonization of Putin masks the real situation in Russia, where a thriving black economy means that the standard of living is far, far higher than we are led to believe in the West. Very few Russians are "struggling with poverty" any more than their counterparts in Western countries. I suggest you access some of the many blogs and YouTube channels put out by Russians, and indeed by Westerners who have gone there to live.

@ GDP is meaningless in a country with a black economy larger than the one which appears on the books. The Russia people are enjoying a lifestyle unlike any they have ever previously experienced. You are living in an anti-Putin bubble. Just visit some of the YouTube channels put out by ordinary Russians, or even Westerners who have gone to live there.

@srlind2835 I don't need my perspective broadening, thank you very much. What about the World Happiness Index. Have you tried that? Russia simply is not the hell-hole that it suits Western warmongers to portray it as.
