Muticulturalism cannot exist when one culture denies the rights of other cultures to exist. Islamism does this.

@colincampbell4261 Because they are growing in numbers and influence. And I don't think hatred is quite the right word. Resentment better covers it.

@drcommonsense1 I am sure this is true of ordinary decent Muslims. But Islamism, with its emphasis on domination and rejection of other religions, is a growing force which has to be countered.

@colincampbell4261 I think many British people believe that as a price of living here, people from other cultures should be prepared to adapt to the British way of life, and not try to impose their way of life on those not of their faith.

@drcommonsense1 This is certainly true of most Muslims, I am sure. But you have to admit that there is a substantial extremist wing of Islam which follows the more extreme precepts of the Koran. It is here where the danger lies and Muslims must be aware of this, and be prepared to do something about it. I fear that most are not prepared to do so, however.

@CuriousCrow-mp4cx I have tried to read the Koran but it is so full of scary stuff I gave up. But I do agree that Islamism is not Islam - which is why ordinary, decent Muslims should make a great effort to cast out extremists - before it is too late.
