@ I tend to watch war mapping channels such as DPA War and Weeb Union, which objectively assess claims from both sides and generally present a well balanced picture. For an equally balanced view of the political and economic developments I usually find myself in broad agreement with John Mearsheimer of Chicago University, an internally-recognised political scientist of considerable repute. I reject the assessments of most news channels as utterly laughable.

@robertwoods3873 You've obviously been watching crazy Western propaganda. The Russians have finally broken through the extremely fortified Ukrainian defences on the line of contact, and now have a clear path to take the 30% or so of Donetsk which remains in Ukrainian hands. Oil refineries have certainly suffered from drone attacks, but they have in no way been destroyed, and nor is the Russian economy anywhere near collapse.

@robertwoods3873 The Russian military action has resulted in advances all along the line of contact and Ukraine's defences are almost overwhelmed. Oil refineries have been damaged by drones, but none have been destroyed. Russia's economy is nowhere near collapse, by any standard of judgement. I think the action you have been following has taken place in the fevered imagination of propagandists.

@ This is just silly propaganda. I wouldn't want to diminish the effects of drones on this war, but to suggest 50% of Russia's oil refineries have been destroyed is absurd. It is equally ridiculous to suggest that Russia's economy is anywhere near collapse. They are suffering from inflation, certainly - but who isn't? In fact the Russia economy is generally held to be among the top half dozen economies in the world, with an increase of 4.1% in GDP last year as just one example.
