  3. Russia does not wish to "destroy Ukraine." It's aim is to retake those parts of Eastern Ukraine which it believes were were mistakenly included in the new country of Ukraine when it was recreated in 1991.

  4.  @markmelnyk9897  It is quite true that Kiev was created before the inhabitants moved up river and created Moscow -but that was a thousand years ago and much has happened since then, especially the Mongol invasions which destroyed the Kievan Rus .

  6. The Kursk adventure is merely an attempt to gain a couple of of bargaining chips in the hopefully imminent peace talks. Ukraine has lost this war.

  7. Russia has no wish to destroy Ukraine. It merely wants to recover those parts of the new country of Ukraine which it considers to be Russian. The rest of the country can go its own way.
