Law abiding Canadains need to be able to carry weapons for self defense this should include pepper spray, tasers and firearms. Canada needs its own 2nd amendment type laws.

@mrlockhart4252 I believe your misinformed. You can carry a knife as a tool yes but as soon as you use it for self defense you would be charged and arrested and god help you if it was longer then 5,6 inches or a gravity knife or spring knife. As for a baton it's not a tool for anything other then hitting people with one's again you will be charged arrested and sent to jail. You should really talk with a lawyer if you think you can carry theses weapons and use them for self defense.

@rollinsomethingbutiforgot ok we are going in circles here. I believe we are kind of saying the same thing you can defend yourself and family members with reasonable focus. I would like to expand what is considered reasonable focus. I believe all law abiding Canadains should be able to carry weapons for self defense.

@rollinsomethingbutiforgot I just don't want somone getting into trouble for defending themselves and ask people to do some research and talk with a lawyer so they know their rights. I'm not trying to discourage anyone just that they know the limits.

@rollinsomethingbutiforgot your some what right if you kill somone on your land you will be charged and have to prove your life was at risk you would also have to prove they intended to kill you or your family members. The guy was talking talking about carry and knife and bear spray out side of his home which you can't do for self defense.

@rollinsomethingbutiforgot I also said talk to a lawyer before you use anything to defend yourself which is not misinforming people I want people to know their rights. You can only use as much force which is nessessary to stop an attack.

@rollinsomethingbutiforgot I would tell everyone who's thinking about defending themselves to watch Canada's self defense utube channels and to speak with a lawyer and know what you can and can't do in a self defense situation.

@cantfindausernamedam you can own a sword you just can't carry it for self defense. Batons you can also own but one's again you can carry one for self protection.
