It is about creating equal opportunity for everyone. Blacks have gotten the short end of the stick for a long fucking time... long after slavery even. This is one way of evening the playing field.

Being popular =/= being right. Obviously.

Thank you for this. To see so many on the "smart side" fawning for her is disheartening.

@prog.rocker Regarding, "was probably already doing quite well" And people aren't known for wanting more right? I watched uncut gems recently. You should too. It was really good. In part because the writers have a better understanding of human nature than you seem to have. Keep pretending all you want. Reality is what it is.

I think that if Bernie Sanders were dictator he would do reparations. But he's not. And ultimately he is a politician making political decisions. I support reparations personally. But if I were running for president I think I would sideline that belief for political purposes. It's just not what most americans want. Instead Bernie tries to lift all boats, which is still great for descendants of slavery. Raising the minimum wage, making college available to all, relieving college debt, legalizing weed and so much more all disproportionally effect minorities.

Regarding, "She was a treasure." More like she was after treasure.

She ran to increase her exposure and sell books. That's hardly authentic to me.

@anthonybrowne3942 Regarding, "Unlike you a lot of people, money was not her motivating factor." So much wrong with so few words. First how do you know how much value I place on money? You seem to think a lot even though that's the type of behavior I'm saying I have a problem with. It's like your conclusion has more to do with your desire to try and insult me and has nothing to do with any sort of "logic." Second, most people care about money because that's what reality looks like. I even got done trying to make the point that money isn't everything very recently with nobody seeming to get it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wts_l8E3_FQ&lc=z22mczn53qqdsdn3yacdp433cgutt0jkay4k0ucfnntw03c010c.1578699038472777 My original comment, "I want whatever happy drug this guy is on. Unless liking Warren was one of the side effects." And I get responses like, "its called not worrying about money," "dude he’s rich." My take, "Money doesn't buy happiness." So that's what I actually think on the topic not that I think you care. And thirdly... money IS her motivating factor. She doesn't just give those books away. If she genuinely cared about politics there is a way to do it. You earn your place at the table and don't think you should be starting at the fucking top. The fact that she thinks anyone should be supporting her, instead of someone like Sanders who has earned their spot, is beyond insulting. She knows she has no right to support and had less than 0 chance of winning before running... but there was money to be made.

@anthonybrowne3942 Regarding, "when the first thing that comes from a person is money, that tells you where their head is at." When you want to act like money isn't a natural motivator of people you can tell they are coming from a position of great bias.

Maybe I should have been running against Bernie Sanders for president, essentially saying that he shouldn't be president and I should, so that maybe down the road I can get a job in their administration.

@edc3743 Regarding, "Running doesn't disqualify you for serving NOR does it qualify you per se." Let's say you are running when you have zero experience in politics, zero chance to win, and your running would only serve to split progressive voters when we actually have a progressive champion running who is everything you aren't and are enabling the establishment's chances of winning. This goes to "how intelligent and wise you are." And they aren't.
1
@edc3743 Regarding, "Many times in the past fellow Democrats who ran have been pulled into administrations." What you are talking about are examples of a person with actual experience in politics being pulled into administrations. That's very different than asking a person on a vanity tour who has no experience in politics who is just trying to sell books books to serve. It's not that someone who has no experience shouldn't be considered for political positions. But they shouldn't be considered to start at positions at the top. You want to work in politics... do it right. Start at the bottom and earn your way up.
