@keithrose6931 Yes so maybe we can get the big companies who raked it in to pay an emergency pandemic tax and use it to fund better pay for nurses? Or use it to give tax cuts to lower-paid workers?

Is almost as if there's a pandemic going on.

@nevillemccarter242 It's actually a feedback system - public grows private. Or do you think the country would do great if we all had to pay for private health, roads, police, fire, schools...?
1
Do you mean like the British soldiers in Afghanistan who did the same in the past to boost morale? Were the soldiers all lazy slackers then? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GktdwlWma0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I-AcSioLXU https://www.military.com/video/operations-and-strategy/afghanistan-conflict/call-me-maybe-by-royal-engineers/1859101855001

Not as much of a money pit as the US healthcare system.

Only by people who don't understand economics. The private sector works so well because the state protects it via the army, police and legal system (the whole 'ltd' company thing for example). The state also educates 90% of workers, builds the roads and ensures standards are kept to. If the private sector had to pay for all these we'd have a feudal economy similar to the middle-ages with a tiny middle-class and Lords lording it up in castles.

I bet you don't mind MPs and CEO parasites getting big rises, though.
1
@theancientsancients1769 And countries abroad also get idiots abusing their medical staff like you're doing.
1
All part of the kick the NHS and ignore the pandemic phase of the Tory government.
1
They actually won't. Dewberry is another propagandist who'll say anything to stir up hate.
1
Like time I checked there was a pandemic going on and we've lost hundreds of heatlcare workers to it.
1
Am all for a pay rise for them. Are you willing to pay more for your supermarket/food deliveries tho?
1
Amount of patients seen is not a good metric. Does a GP seeing 30 people a day therefore get paid more than a neurologist seeing two people with horrible brain injuries?
1
Weird how MPs got a rise, tho.

@Saddamuel America has private, Americans are not healthier than anywhere else. Capitalism won't improve healthcare - just make it more expensive.
1
@goth_dude6874 There's plenty of office manager type jobs higher than that, and I bet bureaucrats don't have to sit in on operations each day or watch people die of horrible diseases.
1
@goth_dude6874 That is a reflection of the private sector knocking down wages and giving the surplus to their bosses. There's a reason CEOs are paid 3+ times what they were paid in the 80s (even adjusted for inflation) and it isn't because their job is harder.
1
And they should be paid more, but HM Gov is trying to get work done cheap with the profits going to private companies so the care agencies exploit as much as they like.
1
Oh look, its a GB News presenter moaning about unions and nurses being overpaid. What exactly happened to the £60 million start up funding for your channel? It certainly didn't go on sound engineers. Did it by any chance go on massive wages for presenters?....
1
You're a foreigner. If you're American your system is much worse than ours.
1
@eteline_music Imagine making people be healthy for the common good! The right-wing really are offended by anything.
1
Yeah, its not like sickies are a thing anywhere else, is it?...
