I saw a programme about Bill Gates a while back and Sugar was on it. In case anyone doesn't know, Sugar did really well with computers and found a niche with cheap PC clones in the late 80s. But Sugar admitted himself he didn't really understand the importance of software which allowed the Americans to outcompete him - Amstrad could have been Dell-sized with a bit of foresight. The statement stunned me. Imagine being worth hundreds of millions and you can't be arsed to hire a couple of PHd advisors to educate you on new technology. He never learnt. We had the Amstrad emailer after that. Bloody hell.
