  1. Koreans need to dress well, upward social mobility for them depends a lot on outward appearance. It's not like the tropics or the US West Coast where function over form is the norm.

  2. It's still strange for me to hear about K-dramas, since I've always been in places where Bollywood, Nollywood, Telenovelas, or American sitcoms dominate. Guess that's why my Korean doesn't improve as well when I'm outside the country.
