  2. Even in car-centric Dubai, I can go a considerable ways with just their metro and bikeshare. Problem is (other than summer heat) the RTA (DMV) dictates that the bikeshare docks may only be installed next to marked bike paths, which is a scattered feature in car-centric Dubai.

  3.  @Urbanhandyman  Still means crossing streets in the correct direction. Not a comfortable experience for pedestrians especially ones not familiar with that part of the city. And that's without dodging all the street thieves and homeless campers.

  4. If Prop 13 was meant to protect retirees, it's a counterproductive policy. We should be attracting younger workers, not further subsidizing terminal benefits.
