  1. You only get one go to impress. It has to pack a real punch, be performed well with good vocals, and memorable presentation and some part of it must have a memorable strong melody, whatever other gimmicks surround it. This is too lightweight and does not pack enough of a punch. It's also not to modern European tastes.

  2. U.K just does not "get". the Eurovision song contest. We think it's kitsch, including the winning entries so we put in kitsch entries to try and win. Trouble is that other European countries take it seriously. They really like the kind of songs that win and don't regard them as kitsch, so it's no good us not being serious about it if we want to win..
