Breast milk is NOT sterile, its a bodily fluid and it can contain several pathogens like HIV if the woman has it. For example, scientists in Finland detected several strains of Staphylococcus aureus “known as a causative agent of maternal breast infections and neonatal infections” in human breast milk samples. Scientists in Canada report that breast milk “is a body fluid capable of transmitting blood-borne pathogens when ingested.”

  7.  @juliavanblarcom8666  If she knows she had a disease, if not, that's how many babies got HIV and other diseases. Breast milk is not some magical substance. It is in no way antibacterial nor does it "heal." It has nutrients and some limited antibodies in it, that's all. And once again, no, its not sterile, that's woo woo bs. It can actually make pink eye worse, because there are different types of of pink eye caused by different bacteria. There is a specific type of pink eye bacteria, the same type that causes gonorrhea, that breast milk seems able to help with, but any other type of pink eye will just be made worse.
