  1. The Nashville shooter was prompted by the same things that prompted the citizens/soldiers of the Union & Allied countries/militaries. They were all prompted by: (1)The ignorant bigotry and preemptive violence which were perpetrated and perpetuated by lazy, knavish, white-supremacist, wealthy-right-wing, Confederate & Nazi genocidal enslavers. (2) The ignorant bigotry and preemptive violence which were perpetrated and perpetuated by the working-class dupes who supported the lazy, knavish, white-supremacist, wealthy-right-wing, Confederate & Nazi genocidal enslavers. (3) The ignorant bigotry and preemptive violence which were perpetrated and perpetuated by lazy, knavish, white-supremacist, genocidal enslavers who are primarily cisgendered heterosexual males from the wealthy-class and the working-class. The Nashville shooter, along with the Allied & Union citizen-soldiers, acted in self-defense from and vengeance against numbers 1, 2, and 3 above. The Nashville shooter and the Allied & Union citizen-soldiers were working toward the construction of a better world, free of the bigotry, violence, enslavement, and genocide that has been perpetrated and perpetuated by lazy, knavish, white-supremacist, cis-gendered, heterosexual, male right-wingers from the wealthy-class, and free of the working-class dupes who support the wealthy-class right-wing. I'm sorry that the working-class dupes in your life failed to demand a proper education for you, and foolishly gave you over to the propagandist indoctrination which was fed to them by the lazy, knavish, white-supremacist, genocidal, enslaving, wealthy right-wingers.

  2. In a word: Nothing. Nothing happened to "your" democracy. The U.S. is NOT now, nor has it EVER been a democracy. FFS, the U.S, sh!thole is barely even a republic. At best, the U.S. was an oligarchy; a feudalist&capitalist police-state, with meaningless selective-suffrage, while chattel-slaves, debt-slaves, and wage-slaves from the working-class lived under the minority-rule of wealthy-class right-wingers. At worst, the U.S. has been a kakistocracy; a nepotistic&plutocratic military-state, with meaningless theatrical-suffrage, while chattel-slaves, debt-slaves, and wage-slaves from the working-class live under the minority-rule of wealthy-class right-wingers. This "democracy" you speak of has NEVER existed in the U.S. shthole. You've been indoctrinated with lies by the wealthy right-wing propagandists who own the media companies -- ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and FOX are ALL owned by wealthy right-wingers. And those wealthy right-wingers who own the propagandist & indoctrinating media corporations are the same wealthy right-wingers who fund the moderate right-wing DNC and the extremist right-wing RNC. Those same wealthy right-wingers also fund the facade-fringe parties: the ultra-right-wing extremist "Libertarian" party, and the center-right DSA party. The Libertarian party is actually anti-libertarian in concept, and they are even more extremist than the Repub party. And the center-right DSA party is basically of the same ideology as the 1930s-1980s Democrats, and they are not really DemSoc at all. And wealthy right-wingers "donate" to the leading campaigns of the candidates in ALL of the parties. But those wealthy right-wingers aren't simply "donating" to those campaigns -- they are INVESTING in the politicians, and in other, better countries, those donation-investments are called bribes. Those wealthy right-wingers aren't donating to/investing in the candidates because they believe in democracy. Those wealthy right-wingers are investing in/bribing the candidates because they believe in autocracy. And it is this unregulated system of campaign-finance that allows the wealthy right-wingers to continue their corrupt system of minority-rule. And minority-rule is autocracy -- NOT democracy. It is not only the right-wing Repubs, right-wing Dems, right-wing Libertarians, and right-wing DSAs that are corrupted by wealthy right-wingers. It is the ENTIRETY of the U.S. sh!thole that is corrupted by wealthy right-wingers. ALL of the U.S. -- and 98% of the seats of political power throughout the world -- are bought, owned, bribed, and controlled by the same group of right-wingers from the wealthy-class minority. And the wealthy right-wing minority absolutely DOES NOT "govern" the world via the majority-rule of democracy -- they "dictate" the world via the minority-rule of autocracy. The U.S. has ALWAYS operated this way. Sorry -- that I have to be the one to let you know the ignorance you're spewing -- not sorry.
