@BabbleCacophony Going on testosterone can make it medically urgent to get a hysterectomy. If you've been on puberty blockers and are then given the option to go on hormones then you are making a decision which often leads to a hysterectomy at an age when you haven't cognitively developed like your peers. You might be legally an adult when a hysterectomy happens but if you combine this with the incredibly high incidence of autism and often severe autism then you aren't in the same position at all as a mentally well woman in her late 20s choosing. Of the last 5 or 6 trans men I've listened to that got a hysterectomy not one chose to get it. They still got it because testosterone has a bunch of side effects such as vaginal atrophy. Many got the hysterectomy before having breasts removed although they said most of their "gender dysphoria" (cough body dysmorphia cough eating disorder cough) was focused on their breasts. We also know that the loss of fertility is one of the most common regrets post-op trans ppl feel and the gender clinicians know this too and that the kids going on hormones aren't really mentally capable of taking the decisions they are taking. In Canada a 14 yr old was given hormones in 9 mins. In the USA it's one appointment at planned parenthood. The UK is better than that but the bar is so very low and from the Cass Review we know we shouldn't be prescribing at all except in the most serious cases after far more mental health exploration and when we are clear that they are able to give consent.
