996 leaves no time or room for a social life, child rearing, or even the energy to produce a child. 996 also creates problems with fertility amongst women. Your body just can't function properly with those work demands and I recently saw a documentary that pointed at that it's more hours than that in reality. Someone is making great wealth off of this and it's not the workers. Their pay remains stagnant as company profits go sky high. Their lives are not living. The live to work, not work to live. Productivity also decreases when you're completely burned out. Working themselves to death doesn't equal a healthy population or reproduction.
