Have fun paying for that then

It's currently being repaired and would soon reach drydock

The only museum ship named USS Olympia is only a Cruiser
2
Non for the obvious reason that they were broke
2
It's a ship, it's meant to be in the water. If her hull is cannot be replaced then the only option left is to cement the whole hull like the Japanese Pre Dreadnought Battleship Mikasa

Yes, The USS Texas had submerged torpedo tubes but were eventually removed in one of her refits
1
If you can buy the whole ship then sure you can have it

Well if you have the money to actually do the things you've spouted then the USS Texas Foundation would generously accept donations but you don't have that, do you? So may be shut your mouth if you don't have anything useful to contribute

@bismarkboi096 Look all I'm saying is that the USS Texas Foundation is doing everything they can to repair and restore the old ship but they can't poof money out of thin air to solve their problems. So please understand that there is a limit to what they can do, have patience because at the end of the day it will be done
1
@bismarkboi096 Currently the the USS Texas is the property of the Foundation, when you buy a ship from the navy like what they also did to USS North Carolina it will be your property and responsibility, you'll only have to follow the rules and regulations set by the Navy. So it's very unlikely that the US Navy would stop and help them because it has never been their problem since the ship has been bought off them. It is very saddening at the state of Texas but that's just how it is

USS Texas wasn't in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked the Harbor
1
No, the USS Texas will be here to stay. As I write this comment she is currently still being repaired and would expect to reopen in October 2022
1
And seems you're much more lazy, as of this moment the USS Texas is currently being repaired and would expect to reopen in 2022
1
No they couldn't be bothered as they were broke, the only ship that actually stood a chance to be saved was Vanguard but nobody took any interest in her so no funding ever began and she was scrapped as well
1
@McRocket You do realize that nobody opted or suggested she should be saved so that really shows that nobody is interested in her being saved, I mean it's better to scrap a ship to get at least some of your money back than make a museum ship that nobody even wants
1
@McRocket And where is your link to provide factual proof of what you're saying? I can guarantee you as well that you can't provide me a person that actually wanted to save her in that time
1
Texas is being repaired even today, she will last long
1
She is still getting repaired and she will reopen again
1
@mikeadler2755 Really? And for the past ten years she's still afloat, isn't she?
1
@mikeadler2755 here's the official updates on the repair on USS Texas https://battleshiptexas.org/battleship-updates/ She is getting repaired and they don't have a problem with those so called "huge pumps" you mentioned
1
Texas as of today is still being currently repaired and would expect to open again in 2022
1
Not really, USS Massachusetts is in need of repairs but she'll never be scrapped as funding is still going to the ship
