Pretending this is about Hamas is just as silly as believing that the war on terror was about defeating terror, it wasn't and never has been, and everyone knows that now. Funny part of all this is that many Israeli officials have said the quiet part out loud, many times, you just ignore it or don't know about it. Netanyahu had no problem with keeping Hamas there prior to October the 7th, he even famously wanted him there to keep instability in Palestine.
