@XDarkGreyX To be fair though being a developer doesn't necessarily mean having advanced technical knowledge in any specific area. I find AlbertaTech's take on things (particularly in longer videos) to be overall well-informed and fairly accurate as far as I can tell (as a dev, not in the US). However it is worth noting that both channels are fundamentally tech news/opinion channels (+ some meme shorts) and therefore consideration should also be given to the quality of research that went into the videos. AlbertaTech went a lot more into breaking down the paper including pointing out its lack of scientific rigor with regards to how it was published and pointing out fairly obvious issues with the premise and conclusions, whereas Fireship basically just parroted the content at face value.

@proosee I was a bit like that after my first job. It's an easy trap to fall into when you're in a hellscape with lots of poorly thought out small stories vastly underestimated and strong pressure to do things faster. In my second job the project was well-managed and my scrum master (and immediate boss) was absolutely amazing. A lot of what I learned in the first months in that place could be summerised with the sentence "slow down, don't worry, no one hates you, try to come up with the best long-term solution even if it means taking twice as long".

@superdingo9741 Lol most of the people on my team supposedly spend 30 hours a week as programmers and 10 hours as devops guys. I say "supposedly" because the line between the two can be pretty blurred (as can the line between programming and making business decisions/contacting clients directly to know what they want, for...reasons)

I also love the assumption that employees are either 100% or 0% developer. How do they account for, say, a scrum master/tech lead/team head who spends most of his time in meetings but is also responsible for a lot of design work and a small amount of code? Likewise, be prepared for the software architects to suddenly find themselves flagged as useless lol
