  1.  @ChewEberrie  communist China is the world’s biggest polluter, and the Soviets created more than their fair share of environmental disasters, none of which have been cleaned up. Environmentally friendly isn’t something you can call communists. Capitalist countries have actually dedicated quite a lot of resources to protecting the environment. I have a feeling all the other examples you didn’t give are just as wrong.

  4. The US doesn’t care about that area, so won’t have reason to stop Turkey. Russia’s population is only 40% larger than Turkey’s, and their demographics are terrible. Also, Turkey doesn’t have the vast sparsely inhabited area to defend. The huge area of Russia spreads their limited forces very thin.
