@Yódhgæ Shrifjå Mr. Chan is totally correct. Even if one is a Chinese/Asian "banana", certain Americans will never consider these bananas "legitimate Americans".

@noodlelicious. Mr. Chan did not "downplay" the assaults of Asian-Americans; he was wise, not to fault any particular group. He was being diplomatic; he DID NOT want to play the "race card." Presently, racism is a highly polarizing topic in the US; I applaud him for his discretion.

Karlin is absolutely correct @ 3:11; it is genuinely positive, that some younger Chinese are "losing some of their whiteness."
