Logistics stretched to the breaking point. - SS Atlantic Conveyor gets sunk along with nearly all the Chinook helicopters, so the Paras and Royal Marines had to walk 40 miles over rough, boggy terrain in freezing weather, carrying 45kg of equipment to reach the start of their fighting positions near Port Stanley. - The troops had hardly any food, no sleep for 30 days, half the men had trench foot and frostbite, ammo was dangerously low, command structure was breaking down yet they managed to win every land battle with fewer casualties than the Argentinians. Literal bayonet charges uphill against machine gun nests. Argentina surrenders less than a month after the first soldier waded ashore in San Carlos. yeah, no wonder the Americans were impressed with their closest ally Did I also mention that the war happened after defence cuts to the British military
