Putin's bluff to use nukes to defend Russia has been exposed and he looks weak. Putin will not take the blame even though he started the war so Gen. Gerasimov will be the sacrificial goat, along with the local officials in Kursk and Belgorod. Ukraine's goal is to trade occupied Russian territory for occupied Ukrainian territory when negotiations start, probably with Putin's successor. Russian dictators are removed from power in unpleasant ways when Russia loses a war, like it happened during WW1. Both Gen. Gerasimov and Putin are on very thin ice right now because the truth about the Ukraine invading Russia can no longer be covered up. Putin's regime is not only unable to occupy Ukraine but is unable to protect Russia.
