  1. This is the difference between Russia and the US, EU, and other free democratic countries. Putin can do whatever he wants and the rest of the Russian politicians and state media kiss his butt or end up like Navalny or worse. In the US and EU politicians are held responsible by constitutional checks and balances, a Supreme Court, a free-speech media, and ultimately by the voters.
