@balazslengyel6950 Well, we also know the Soviets did ethnic replacement of the Poles and Germans after (and during) the war, and the Germans were well aware of previous Soviet genocides (as well as ‘being sent to the east’), so even if the POW death rate is exaggerated, it’s still reasonable for the Germans to have been terrified of the Soviets.

@johnnydavis5896 It was very awkward when Himmler found out the Iranians had been calling themselves “Aryans” long before the Nords were even on the map.

@michaelashby9654 The Northern Part of Korea was Korea’s “Austria”, having a massive multiethnic empire that spread out into Manchuria before the Millennium Eruption destroyed it, and it was absorbed into the South in around 950AD. That’s a REALLY long time ago. A bit long to say they’ve “historically” been a different kingdom.

Considering they couldn’t fuel them anyways, one might wonder why they even bothered with tanks at this point.

@tampabaycanuck64 Cutting off the Soviet Oil supplies is not folly. The Soviets had put most of their reinforcements on the Moscow direction, attacking Moscow again isn’t going to provide much benefit.

@weirdshibainu Except during an Operation Downfall, the Germans WOULD have the fuel, and the food. The Soviets themselves were at the end of their supply lines, and while infrastructure in the West was relatively untouched thanks to the insubordination of Speer, the stuff in the East was pretty much wreaked.

The Soviets were constantly trying to break the siege of Leningrad in the North.

@natekaufman1982 The alternative “Plan C” for Japan was to simply blockade and starve out Japan (which was already starving.) Japan’s Navy was kaput at this point, so it’s feasible for the US to fight the Soviets on land and Japan with a much smaller land force, using the Navy and Air Force to force them to surrender. Japan blockaded can’t support any of their conquered territories.
