Please stop claiming single weather events are climate change or than a single weather event can be clearly linked to anything. Climate change is an overall longitudinal change in climate systems, moreover a physical movement of those systems on the globe and is not seen as isolated and weather events. When you overreport, or misreport things as climate change you are just creating more climate change deniers. This is something too important to play silly games with, particularly when we urgently need to talk about getting population under control to solve climate change. There is nothing all that unusual about this typhoon, except it's impacts on people's lives.

@TheScotsalan No. Your assertions about the science and more importantly about climate scientists are plain wrong. Scientists are not mystic meg ffs. To answer your first question, because climate and weather are not the same thing. It is not possible to determine a causal relationship between a single weather event and changes in climate. Least of all when the weather event is not historically unusual for the region. That is not how climate science works. When we talk about climate, we are talking about physical closed systems which inhabit the upper atmosphere. When we talk about climate change, we are talking about those systems physically moving in the atmosphere to new geographical zones. These are long term physical processes that can similarly only be measured over the long term. Single weather events aren't that.
