Comments by "TJ Marx" (@tjmarx) on "‘I trusted you’ - Suella Braverman delivers brutal resignation letter to Rishi Sunak" video.
The cabinet isn't like you going to work every day where if you don't perform adequately your employment can be terminated. These are all ELECTED members of parliament. An electorate voted Suella Braverman into office, she's there because an electorate feel she best represents them. Braverman didn't walk into #10 and Sunak said "you're fired" like Trump on the apprentice. That didn't happen, it can't happen because ministers in cabinet have pprtfolios not jobs and the party leader isn't actually their boss. A full cabinet reshuffle forces Braverman to resign. She was told to resign very forcefully and had few other options, but she officially resigned. That is why they are treating it as a resignation, because that's precisely what it is.

CH4 and Labour are grasping at straws with Bravermans letter. Wow, a woman forced to resign because of the hateful bile she sprayed on a daily basis, whom has never shown even a mkdicum of grace, dignity or reason in public life, used her poison tongue as a disgruntled ex, during a childish temper tantrum. Shocker. Oh and there's an accusation of a back room deal to put her into the home office 5 days after she was last forced to resign. Amazing. It's not like that wasn't already suspected to be the case. If anything it works in Sunaks favour, because it shows he didn't exercise poor judgement, it was merely the price of securing the leadership. I would say the others who have lost their portfolios have had them thrust upon Sunak to secure the leadership and what we're now seeing is something closer to a cabinet Sunak would have created had he been free to make decisions alone. This reshuffle is what will secure the election for Torys. Not the reshuffle itself, those don't. But the outcomes the reshuffle facilitate, that will. I don't think there's any confusion with Cameron joining cabinet. He isn't looking to return to #10. Instead it signals a strong cabinet with experience whom can get the job done.
