  1. Economic migrants are NOT asylum seekers. Please stop mixing these two things up. An asylum seekers must demonstrate they are fleeing a war or major political persecution. Poor people are NOT seeking asylum, they're seeking money. Those are very different things. They need to be reported as such. There are legal routes for those seeking economic migration to receive visas as appropriate. The reason undeveloped and many developing countries don't have direct access to those programs is because they do not qualify for any of the visas. Economic migration has to be good for the host country too, the host country has to get more out of the migrant than they're giving out. That means they need to be skilled and people in undeveloped and developing countries which lack direct access to visa programs do not have those skills in their countries, that's what makes them undeveloped or developing... Trying to rob such countries of their best and brightest, their only hope of developing their economies, via emigration is another form of colonialism. The best thing we can do for these people, and their home countries is to use some tough love to keep them away.
