  1. "She's a recognised asylum seeker" That just means she's claimed asylum. It doesn't in any way legitimise her claim. ONLY if she is granted refugee status is her claim legitimised. That's how the international system works. You would struggle to find any refugee convention signatory country that has a high flow of applications that does not have a backlog and where adjudication on those claims doesn't take years. They might exist, but they're so rare you'd have to really dig in to find one. This is hardly an africa problem. Let's try to remember, application numbers everywhere are being inflated by economic migrants "She has not seen her daughter since she was 3, she's 15 now" Is a good indication she's an economic migrant and not an asylum seeker. What mother leaves her 3 year old in a place she feels is unsafe. None. That's the MO of an economic migrant seeking money to feed her children.
