  2. I don't think Taiwan's engineers work for cheap. Maybe less, but not cheap. Taiwan has a developed economy - educated and industrial. If China attacks Taiwan, and actually succeeds in conquering it -- I am sure all the chip engineers and other specialized workers will be evacuated to the US.
