  1. There was a massive whiplash between WW2 and Vietnam where veterans went from hero's to pariahs, then the same thing happened again after 9/11 where they became heroes again. My Vietnam vet dad got nothing and the government wont even recognize his company as a veteran own business despite years of effort while modern veterans get rubber stamped. It's kind of surreal
