  1.  @unduloid  it wasn't about being a good idea, it was to make it almost impossible for the USSR and their allies or US and their allies from using the UN against the other. It also helped guarantee permanent power between the major players after WW2 which helped bring those powers together. Everyone knew the problems it would cause, they just didn't really care. Also this is just kind of proof that without the US the UN is completely gutless and ineffectual. They can't act against the US and in cases where Russia or China oppose something they have to lead their allies in a joint effort to do an end run around the UN. Korea would be a desolate wasteland, Germany would still be trapped between being a 1st world and 3rd world country like many other former Soviet states, jews would be exterminated or scattered to the winds, Iraq wouldn't have been invaded, and Granada wouldn't be democratic, and Afghanistan would... be pretty much same I guess. Might have fewer M4s being fired at civilians.
