@gmw3083 Right, Russia is "defending itself" against a nation about one-third its size in population and even less in terms of land mass. In fact, Putin made his intentions quite clear in his 6,000 word essay "On the Historical Unity of the Russian and Ukrainian People." The imperialistic character of those intentions is evident starting from the title of the article itself. As far as Nordstream is concerned, do you have a source for that statement?

@ArawnOfAnnwn For the populations of Ukraine and Russia see "Demographics of Russia" and "Demographics of Ukraine" respectively, both on Wikipedia. A comparison of the two articles indicate that the population of Ukraine is not even 1/3 the size of Russia's. Any more questions?
