@coco-ongelzela I'm sure if I didn't say that somebody would have suggested that I meant it that other way. Can't win for losing... I just don't have anybody in my area that I can talk to about anything I'm interested in involving computers or chemistry, or even just tinkering hobbies with miscellaneous electronics and machinery... It'd be great if I was near a makerspace or something, but I'm not and if I set one up, no one would show up , I'd be the only one again...

Where can I find the technical documents? Like say , what I would need to know to extend the memory space over the pcie bus to a dram card?

I want to have more memory than my physical RAM has room to hold the page table, is there a way to trick or bypass , override or reprogram the MMU to use a block device , fast flash drive or such AS main memory? The actual ram, if any, could be set up as an l2 cache. If paging is still necessary, that could be done to a secondary hard drive. I think there is the potential for that to actually be faster with today's flash drives on an old system then trying to use conventional memory paging with a page table that takes the majority of actual memory and a ton of thrashing.

Lorie , do you know of any asymmetrical distributed multi-processing platforms? How about anything that can run with remote RAM? Nothing on board.

I wish I could have you as a roommate or friend.. I DO NOT mean that in a creepy "if I was younger" sort of way..

I wish you were around like you are now but 20 years ago. Not necessarily for dating reasons, but it would have been nice to have someone to talk to about this kind of stuff without everybody just humoring me like they understand it.

I was using memory paging on a my old Atari when I was 10 years old... But I didn't learn what it was called or anything else about it until I was in college.... When was the technique given the name "memory paging"?

How else is Santa going to get release after being on onlyelves ? I couldn't code this without it looking like Santa is being into bestiality..... Usually I prefer to use my variable names and their organization to tell political saltire, not a NSFW Christmas.

How does this not happen in lisp?or does it depend on the implementation of lisp?, well when you can have infinite recursion but without seg fault, how does that work?

Are you a D&D fan?

Did you work on the os\2 kernel or something?

Most of my hardware is 20 years old and I'm broke, I'm lucky I even have one 64-bit system... And most of my systems fully upgraded have so little memory they would barely hold the lookup table one might find in a modern machine... Is it possible to reprogram the MMU to DMA the hard drive bus so I can use a flash drive AS RAM ?? That way perhaps I can have an old system that can only support a GB of memory and have the operating system report the programs that I have hundreds of gigabytes of RAM and a 1 GB cache. That way I'm not paging all to the hard drive, thrashing the drive trying to keep track of virtual memory and squeeze hundreds of memory blocks into one block of actual ram spending all my time swapping back and forth..... I want to instead use the drive itself AS RAM . I know it'll be slow but I'm sure it'll be a lot faster than trying to use a hundred times more virtual memory than I actually have memory, or doing virtual memory over ethernet! When you compare the time spent swapping, and or Network latency compared to just slower access speed, that lower access speed doesn't seem that slow nowadays with high-speed flash drives and such. Please tell me if modern mmu is reprogrammable that way and if so where should I start?

I find her voice too high pitched and very annoying, it bothers me a lot, but I force myself to sit through it because she's so smart and the content is so good and I'm so interested.

@MarcelMrgic some women intentionally talk a certain way because they think it makes them sound more feminine or attractive, and it usually backfires. I just hope that, if this is her natural voice, she doesn't take this comment personally. She shouldn't have to worry about her voice either way. My main point is actually the value of the content. A left-handed compliment if you will.
