  4.  @glidgebidge1029  : I fear you misapprehend me? Perhaps I expressed myself badly? I draw no comparisons between Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, from the point of view of the average Russian and their, “government,” and other places in the world, other than to point out that their behaviour toward May parades has never changed, regardless. I doubt they would ever try to sell the single tank as a, “tactful,” gesture, because that’s just not in their character. Bluster and doubling down is all Putin knows how to do. Whilst we in the west all know that Putin is afraid and doesn’t want to be in the presence of all those armed personnel, while he simply cannot spare the weapons and armed vehicles for a parade, how this is explained to the Russian people will be what you heard from Jake in this video. On Anna From Ukraine’s channel, apparently, people were being told it was the weather! When they pointed out that the weather is fine in Moscow, they were told, “Yes, but it’s bad in the surrounding airbases, etc.” Russians, especially Muscovites, have been trained to accept implausible nonsense all their lives and not to question it. Whether they believe it or not has never been a question people would even bother to ask. What people say is all that matters. And they are expected to repeat their dictator’s message, verbatim. But, one thing I can promise you is that no one in the Kremlin will have said, we are reducing the number of missiles, jets, tanks, etc, down to one single WWII tank out of, “consideration for the fallen,” “tact,” or out of, “thought for the families of the dead.” That’s just not how it’s done in Russia.
