@simplyamazing880 : Normally, I would laugh off such an idea as an appeal to madness, but not today. NATO has the perfect, legitimate, pretext: The Zaporizhzhia Power Station, which has been mined. That is sufficient cause for NATO to say they are directly threatened, because they are! If that thing blows it is four times the size of Chernobyl. That means a radiation cloud, 4 X 2 X 2 X 2 X 2 times bigger than the one that spread right across the northern hemisphere from East to West, reaching Canada and making weather reports the most watched shows world wide, whilst literally the entire population of Ukraine, and several millions from western Russia, pour into western countries fleeing radioactive death!
The threat is already too big and our governments are being alarmingly too quiet about a very real possibility! My daughter is a PhD physics student and she’s been upsetting the family, and herself, with her talk of this. It’s the inaction of the west that I find most alarming. They blew the dam! Massively unprecedented terrorism is just another day at the office for Putin! And they have all the data from Chernobyl! To them it must look like the perfect act of terrorism!
I hope you are all writing to your representatives?

@Strathom1 : That’s a good question, and I’d love to hear some more analysis from Jake about that. We do know that some of the biggest leaks to come out of Russia, came from FSB double agents, including the invasion plan from the start. They also (as good as) saved Zelensky’s life by pre-warning him about more than one assassination attempt, and that Intel turned out to be good. Whether they’re doing it for their own ends, because they simply have a different agenda to Putin but still want evil outcomes, or whether the west is benefitting from just a few insider double agents, is totally unclear unless you’re the director of the CIA, MI6, or one of the other Five Eyes spy agencies, I guess?
From the FSB’s point of view, having access to all information (or as much as Russia has at any rate) they could probably see from the start that this attempt on Ukraine was all but suicidal, and they’re probably just fighting to survive, whatever the outcome. Yes, Putin recreated the FSB, making it up from his old colleagues in the KGB and from his new mafia boss friends from various regions across his empire. So, you would have thought he would be tighter with them than anyone, right?
But, these are the people who have spent their entire lives surviving and getting what they want, through the type of brutality that would make a Borgia wince, and by breaking every law under the sun, now all in a large organisation, who’s, “loyalties,” probably go first to their leaders inside the FSB and stop at their wallets. I would love to know more, but that’s a really hard topic to research. But they are a formidable economic force, so Jake probably knows way more than the average guy?
